  23. Well, since I have never had any experience with Maxtor, I can't answer as
  24. to which drive is superior.  I will say, though, that there are users on my BBS
  25. who have purchased Maxtor drives and have given very positive feedback on them.
  26. As for myself, I am the proud owner of a Quantum 85meg ELS drive, which I
  27. purchased to replace the 20-meg XT drive in my A590.  All I can say is that
  28. it is very fast compared to the old XT drive, and much more quiet.

  30. In a review of the Quantum ELS drives (prior to their release), it was said
  31. that the ELS series is supposed to be both faster and require less power to
  32. operate in comparason to the LPS, not to mention that they're smaller and 
  33. less expensive.

  35. I would recommend the Quantum, but I would also encourage you to find specifics 
  36. about the drives from a reseller or other users.
