- Of the several employers I have worked for, only one provided
- any real software engineering training. That was at Texas
- Instruments. The rest of them provided none at all. I will let
- those companies remain anonymous.

- In most cases, the software engineering training consisted
- of supplying a procedures manual. In one case, it was about
- 100 pages, without a table of contents or index! About the
- only thing it was good was a door stop. In my opinion it was
- totally useless. In addition, nobody was actually following it.
