  22. It's very interesting that you should say this. Perhaps it hasn't
  23. occurred to you that you are arguing against yourself, that many of us
  24. here are quite likely to feel that legalising prostitution is the only
  25. moral and coherent thing to do?

  27. Personally I rather *like* the idea of having a public archive of
  28. viruses (a business I like less well, but I could cope), because the
  29. things need more study, more understanding, and less blind panic. And
  30. they are, in fact, basically fairly safe - they'd be more so if current
  31. operating systems were of higher quality, and that again might argue in
  32. its favour.

  34. But I'm also in favour of gun control ("if you own a gun, you hang"), so
  35. I'm not sure I trust this opinion of mine. Maybe it's because I can
  36. understand and defend myself against a known virus, something that isn't
  37. feasible with a gun.

  39. But it's surely not like drug sale or prostitution, things that are
  40. crying out to be legalised and regulated - because they're unavoidable
  41. and harm no one, when conducted wisely.

  43. If you want something to compare to prostitution, what about operating
  44. systems sales? You *can* use a computer without an operating system, you
  45. know. It's not even as depressing as going through life without sex.
