  20. Not so strange -- lots of companies do a poor job of management.  :-(
  21. Regardless, I certainly have a very tough time figuring out what *6*
  22. programmers were doing, given the glacial pace of upgrades to BRIEF
  23. over the last several years and the fact that it was originally
  24. written by 2 programmers.  ;-)

  29. Layoffs are never pleasant, which is why so many companies have a hard
  30. time facing reality.  Better layoffs, however, than a complete
  31. collapse.

  37. I can understand the need for downsizing given Borland's poor
  38. financial performance over the last few years.

  40. Regardless, I have *never* seen an engineering group that didn't think
  41. it was "understaffed", no matter how many people it had.  ;-)
