- Config: OS/2 2.1 beta, VGA, no-87, 8M, HPFS, 386-33.
-
- 1. Most of the time, a shell-escape from CKermit 5A(188) (16- or 32- bit) will
- lock the session entirely. It is not possible to kill such a session. To
- use the com port, a re-boot is required. Same experience with cmd.exe
- and 4os2/32. Note: The shell-escape is done after a connect--shell escapes
- before a connect are ok.
-
- 2. The 2.1 beta breaks the "strings" utility from hobbes (it just repeats the
- same stuff). This program worked under 2.0 GA. Changing the stack size (with
- exehdr) did change the behavior, but did not fix the program. Does anyone
- have source for a good "strings" program?
-
- 3. M Kretzer reported earlier that the 2.1 beta breaks MSC 6.00A. In later
- mail, he remarked that his problems may have been due to the DELDIR bug.
- MSC 6.00A works under 2.1 beta in my preliminary tests.
-
- 4. I get plenty of locked sessions, expecially from Windows apps. The
- Maple V windows demo can't do help (and will eventually lock). I've been
- able to lock cardfile (launched seamless) by asking for help.
