- I just started installing IBM LAN Server 3.0 last night. From the
- documentation it appears that peer services are quite independent
- from LAN Server. Specifically, it is mentioned that peer resources
- may be shared even when the LAN Server is down.

- This makes me think that peer services could be used alone. Although
- they aren't very powerful, for networking two PC's the one user limit
- for sharing would not be a problem.

- I realize the idea of buying LAN Server 3.0 just for peer services
- is a bit whacky, but it seems that if this configuration is possible/
- usable, IBM should offer peer services as a separate product.
