- Does anyone know /has anyone tested the security of OS/2 passwords?
-
- 1. The password in OS/2 version 2.0 (and now in 2.1beta) for Automatic
- Lockup found when the right button is pressed on the desktop, then
- Open - Settings and then Lockup is selected from the menu.
-
- 2. The various passwords in OS/2 Advanced LAN version 3.0, such as the
- sign on password, entered at the workstation and set to the server (is
- it sent in the clear? - if not, is it trivially protected?), or the
- passwords for use ON the server(s).
-
- I have been unable to get an answer from IBM (not overly surprising),
- and need this information, if I am to approve/disapprove the
- product's use due to security weaknesses. No answer and I test 'till
- I figure it out (or reject the product for use, if I run out of time
- first).
-
- Thanks in advance for any responses....
