  21. No. Basically, I think the SVGA driver for Tseng chips is too slow. The
  22. same card under Linux+X-Windows is much faster in video scrolling,
  23. even I turn off the jump scroll feature in X-terms. The old X386 driver
  24. for ET?000 chips used to be criticized as awfully slow, like what I
  25. see in OS/2 2.0+SP. After a guy in UT Austin rewrote the driver
  26. in assembly, the card gives you the performance of Sparc.

  28. In my opinion, IBM (or the video card vendors) should look into the
  29. cards carefully in order to take full advantage of the cards.  I can't
  30. program under WPS using the Windowed OS/2 + Emacs. It's rather painful
  31. to switch the monitor from full screen to WPS (and the click of my
  32. Sony monitor really scares me a lot).
