- Howdy,
-
- For some reason, the system doesn't re-read the directory of
- my B: drive (5.25 in) when I switch floppies. This happened
- when I was recently trying to install a program and it wouldn't
- recognize the disk I put in when it asked "Insert disk #2 in
- drive B: and press Enter." There is no problem (that I know
- of) with the 1.44MB floppy drive.
-
- Is there some CONFIG.SYS setting I can play with to fix this?
- I recall that, in old evil DOS, there was a DRVPARM setting
- that I might try fooling with, but I don't see that in OS/2.
- My CONFIG.SYS already contains the
- BASEDEV=IBM1FLPY.ADD
- line. Could this be a problem with one of the caches that OS/2
- sets up?
-
- Any help with this would be appreciated. You can imagine what
- a pain it is not to be able to install any software that comes
- on 5.25" drives. Even copying to 3.5" floppies requires a
- reboot between each disk.
