- Codeview for windows ( 3.07.00 ) runs fine for me under the OS/2 2.1 beta
- using a dual monitor setup (8514/vga).
- Here's what I did:
- 1. Drag a program template to a folder or to the desktop.
- 2. On the program settings program page, set path and filename to point
- to cvw3.exe, parameters to /8 <buggy program name >.
- 3. On the program settings session page, make sure WIN-OS/2 full
- screen is selected. If you can't select WIN-OS/2 full screen, do a
- selective install of DOS and WIN-OS/2, As has been pointed out
- by a number of posters, this seems to straighten out the configuration
- of WIN-OS/2 if it is not working correctly after a full install.
- 4. On the same page, select WIN-OS/2 settings:
- a. You may need to up the DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT.
- b. Set HW_ROM_TO_RAM to on.
- c. If you're using the 8514/vga dual monitor configuration, set
- VIDEO_8514A_XGA_IOTRAP to off and set
- VIDEO_SWITCH_NOTIFICATION to on. This last from the
- OS/2 2.0 GA readme.
-
- Actually Codeview almost runs fine. The mouse pointer is unusable, but
- since Codeview has a keyboard interface I can live with this problem.
-
- Having said all this, I still can't get Codeview 4.0 which comes with MSC 7.00
- to run. I had hoped the addition of enhanced mode to WIN-OS/2 would
- allow this version to run.
