- : Are we expected to upgrade all our disk utils everytime an OS update is made too?:
-
- First of all, neither the person I was talking to nor I said anything about
- breaking. The word we used was certifying. This means that rather than
- ASSUMING that since it worked on 2.0 it will work on 2.1, they will actually
- do some testing to prove that it does. If there are problems, I would
- expect Proportional Software to inform IBM of the problems they found
- so that it could be fixed before 2.1 is released.
-
- Actually, in a separate note I have mentioned that for me, EZTAPE for PM
- (3.1) is apparently broken on the beta. I've contacted Irwin/Maynard
- and after some difficulty in getting someone willing to talk about
- beta code was able to report my difficulties with the hopes that they
- will check it out to be sure EZTAPE continues to run fine on the
- released code.
-
- Overall, I've been very pleased that with the exception of EZTAPE, everything
- I use still works just fine under the beta.
