- If I understand you correctly, I think your problem is solved.
- Here's the deal: the workplace shell _IS_ what you are looking for.
- If you are running os/2 _2.x_ look no farther.
- When you drag an object a little past the edge of the screen, scroll bars
- appear for the entire desktop.
- You can then move the desktop around.

- Wait. Gee. Never tried it, but I bet that that only affects desktop
- objects. Darn. I bet that windows would stay in the same place, and
- only the shredder, printer, etc., would move. Might want to try it out,
- though. I will when I get home.
