- Subject: WPS-Beta: Association great - sauf little bug
- Lines: 19
-
- With the 2.1 beta one can assign file-extensions to certain program-
- objects. The effect is twofold, firstly the first associated program
- icon will be shown for all files meeting the search-criteria, secondly
- if you double-click on it the default program will be executed (or
- you can use the object-property-pop-up with MB2 and choose another
- program from the Open-settings).
-
- The little bug I referred to in the subject line is as follows: if
- an association took place already and if I change the icon of the
- program-object, the *new* icon will not be propagated thru to the files.
- Therefore a changed icon will not be reflected in the associated files, unless
- you reboot OS/2.
-
- E.g. Asscociate the PMGIF-viewer with files of extension "*.gif". Thereafter
- look GIF-files up with the drive-object. Change the appearence of PMGIF.EXE's
- icon. Refresh the drive-object - no changes take effect with the 2.1beta.
- Booting OS/2 causes the icons to take the new appearence.
