- I'm a little new to this, so excuse me if I missed something, but:
-
- Aren't you supposed to be able to send stuff to a generic SCSI tape
- device which will send SCSI commands and data to your tape drive? You
- shouldn't need anything special for each tape drive type. The drive
- will notify the generic driver that it is coming to the end of the
- tape or that it has problems (like Unix systems). Do I need a
- different driver for every brand and type of SCSI disk drive, or do I
- just need a driver for a brand controller and a generic block access
- device? If I need a driver for the tape drive (something Exabyte is
- not likely to provide) I may as well be running DOS!
