  10. I recently installed the latest SLS on a freinds machine, I also have an
  11. older version of SLS installed on my own machine to compare with, (both
  12. are now at 0.99.4 kernel)

  14. I was having a problem with minicom contained in comms.tpz, which I
  15. installed on both machines.

  17. Seems that on mine, I could edit the minicom -s modem strings and other
  18. items properly, but on the latest SLS version I could not. (The
  19. backspace key would freak out an transfer all kinds of crud to the
  20. minirc.dfl file, if saved).

  22. Well after swapping video cards and moitors to ascertain if it was a
  23. confilct between them, I decided to investigate the software...

  25. After putting the getty and init programs from the new SLS onto the
  26. older machine, (and associated gettydefs, gettytabs) I duplicated the
  27. problem on my older SLS version machine (which didn't have a problem,
  28. before)

  40. I am not sure which program is causing the problem, but there is a
  41. problem associated with one or the other, I had to install all of the
  42. programs and config's for getty to get the older system to boot.

  44. It possibly could have something to do with the way that the consoles
  45. are defined in the different gettydefs, of in the init program.
