  13. I would once like to speak up with a suggestion on how somebody else should
  14. do something (never thought I would :-)

  16. It's this:
  17. I want to encourage everyone who plans to upload any of his works to
  18. ftp-sites to use a file system that is NOT the minix one. The reason is that
  19. while names like "page-up-window" match the request "page-up-window.h" when
  20. used on that fs, it is a nightmare for everybody using a fs with long names 
  21. to rename all the files with truncated names.
  22. I would strongly suggest that you use efs or maybe xfs, because the problem
  23. is not given the other way round - a long filename untarred into a minix-fs
  24. will be shortened and still matched.

  27.   is not meant as criticism, but as a suggestion. And
  28.   yes, I did rename everything several times, but I
  29.   just think it isn't necessary that hundreds if not
  30.   thousands of people do this...
