  13. I have been running linux for a while now and have never had any problems
  14. with compiling a new kernel. (Well, at least none that weren't mentioned
  15. on the net within the next 24 hours). Therefore, I am quite stymefied
  16. at the behavior of my system when upgrading to 0.99.[34].

  18. Problem: 0.99.2 works without problems.

  20. Both 0.99.3 and 0.99.4 boot up okay and seem to work fine. However, after
  21. running for anything from a couple of minutes to half a day my machine
  22. simply locks up. I have no idea what does it and can't reproduce the
  23. error. The keyboard doesn't work any more and the whole system is halted.

  25. Symptoms: 0.99.4 seems to hold out longer than patch 3. It happens even
  26. if I don't touch the keyboard for a long time. The only activity of the system
  27. is running UUCP and calling up my feed. Could it be the serial driver?
  28. What does the new keyboard flag mean? I just use the default for it?
