- Hello all.
-
- Way back when we were still dealing with the 0.98 kernel, I had no
- trouble getting LILO to write the /Image file onto my root partition
- (/dev/hda4). I would use the following line to do this:
-
- /etc/lilo# ./lilo -i boot.b -c -i /dev/hda4 Linux=/Image
-
- and I could then use the OS/2 boot manager to load Linux at boot
- time. This was very fun and I long for the good old days when
- this was possible.
-
- What actually happens is I get a "can't mount root partition, kernel
- panic" type message right after the "Partition table ok." line. This
- doesn't happen when I boot from floppy. I'd rather not boot from
- floppy everytime because it's slow and the floppies I use are real
- cheap garbage, etc, etc...
-
- I've tried this with the LILO that comes with SLS. I'm sure it's
- 0.7 something.
-
- Can anyone help!?!
