- Well, this is kind of supported in Xfree. If you you use a lower resolution
- grephics mode, then this is exactly what will happen. You still get your
- normal sized desktop, but now, not all of it can fit in the confines of
- your screen. Moving the mouse to any edge of the display will effectively
- scroll the rest of the desktop into view.

- Alternatively, you can get the window manager TvTwm. (The??? Virtual
- Tabs Window Manager). It allows you to have a huge desktop (you can
- specify how big) and then provides a panner (which is just like a window
- in itself) that allows you to essentially move the "screen window" over
- the large desktop. It isn't quite the same as moving the mouse to the
- edge of the display, but the effect is kind of the same (in fact, it is
- more impressive, IMHO). Currently, there are people working on the
- port for tvtwm, and I hope they will make it available as soon as it
- is finished.
