  33. Really?  I didn't know this convention was part of the metric system.
  34. I'm all for converting to the metric system, but there's no way in hell
  35. I'm going to start writing my numbers with the comma as the decimal
  36. seperator, the usage of the period as a decimal seperator is just too
  37. deeply ingrained into my subconscious for it to be changed.  And I do
  38. know the country I came from (China) uses metric units for measurement
  39. but numbers still use the period for decimal seperator.

  41. Anyway this is a little off-topic, so let me get back to the original
  42. point.  Last I heard (was a few months ago), OSF was charging $1000
  43. for an education site source license, the price probably have changed
  44. now (someone said $2000).  But if users want it bad enough we can pool
  45. our money together to buy it and let someone knowledgeable to do the
  46. development, I don't know how feasible this is (probably not very), 
  47. but it's a thought.

  49. Having the Motif widget set would definitely be a big plus, one big
  50. gripe I have with X11 is the lack of consistency, most users who come
  51. from a Windows or OS/2 PM background could easily be confused, since
  52. much of Motif is based on IBM CUA (from which Windows and OS/2 PM is
  53. based), it would provide a more smooth transition for them.  I think
  54. all the big players (except Sun) like IBM, HP, DEC are moving towards 
  55. Motif.
