- Greetings all,
- I have a question about the dosemu in linux. Basically, can
- the emulator run a program by the name of Geoworks Ensemble? (sp?) I
- don't run the dosemu, or have this application so have no way of
- finding out. Can the emu run graphics applications?
-
- I am asking this for a friend of mine who is a self-employed computer
- consultent. He is bidding for a job of installing a small network of
- machines in a local realtor office. This office now has 3 386 machines
- and wants to have 10 nodes, for agents to exchange files and email.
-
- My friend and the other bidders were going to suggest Novell, which
- between the OS, ethernet cards and other stuff adds up to big$$$. I
- suggested that he consider linux as an alternative. You only need
- seriel lines, no cards and the OS is free! The only problem being is
- that the office is partial to this Geoworks program.
-
- It seems that this is probably not an uncommen situation and if linux
- can prove itself to be usable (for novices, the "I don't care whats
- underneath, as long as it helps me do my work" kind) and stable, it
- could be a viable alternative to Novell.
