- I need, not later than the morning of the 27th, Eastern time, data/information
- regarding workstation price performance over the past 10 years. I need to
- produce a graph demonstrating the increases in performance achieved during
- that period at relatively constant cost.
-
- For example (I made these up):
-
- 1983 $10,000 buys an XX MHz 68000-based Sun 1 with X MB RAM, roughly X MIPS
- 1985 $10,000 buys ...
- 1987 $10,000 buys ...
- 1989 $10,000 buys ...
- 1991 $10,000 buys ...
- 1993 $10,000 buys a 75MHz HP 700 with 32 MB RAM, roughly 80 MIPS
-
- I need the information necessary to fill in the X's and blanks. I can get the
- recent information, but the older stuff is harder to find. I'd also like to
- use constant dollars, adjusted for inflation. Anyone have that information?
-
- Please send me any information you have that might be helpful. It needn't fit
- the odd-years or $10k suggested above.
