- There should be some method of handling errors, but none is specifed in the
- standards. sndmail allows tha addition of an "Errors-To:" header. This is not
- covered in any standard, but is handled by most mailers.
-
- The more correct way to handle this is the official one of having two mailboxes
- for any mail list, the main one and another that has "-request" appended. the
- "-request" lsit is used for administative purposes.
-
- If the mail is coming from a "real" LISTSERV program, it may be managed by
- sending mail to "LISTSERV@DOMAIN". Try sending a single line message "HELP".
- Also use a subject of "HELP". DON'T send these to the list itself, though! You
- should get instructions on how to add and delete addresses.
-
- Also, mailing lists are often re-distributed. If the LISTSERV is sending to
- foobar-users@mynode.edu which, in turn, forwards messages to 20 people on the
- local site, sending to the LISTSERV won't help (except to turn off mail to
- everyonw at teh site by deleteing foobar-users).. If the header shows messages
- as processed by some intermediate system, that may be the place to look.
-
- Good Luck!
