- Lately, I've been having strange problems with my Gateway 386/33c.
- While running Windows (with any or no apps open/active), all of a
- sudden my screen will clear, the keyboard will lock, and I get a
- message something like "Memory Parity Error - System Shutting Down"
- with all sorts of blue and white ASCII garbage on the screen.
-
- Thinking back to when this all began, it was around the time I
- installed my Diamond Speedstar 24x. I believe it's the latest version
- with the latest drivers and all.
-
- My question is in 2 parts:
- 1) Is this a valid accusation? Is it possible for a video card to do
- this? Perhaps I should say, video drivers since it only happens
- wihle I'm running Windows.
- 2) Has anyone else seen the same problem with (or without) a 24x
- installed?
-
- Other equipment in the box is a Sound Blaster 1.0, a Music Quest PC-MIDI
- card, 2 serial/parallel/game port cards, and the usual mouse, printer,
- 2400baud modem... etc.
-
- Thanks in advance for any help or hints!
