  16. A friend of mine, who recently purchased a ViVa 14.4i modem, is having
  17. a little problem and asked me to post this for him.  Please e-mail to
  18. the address below, as I don't usually check into the account I'm posting
  19. from, and I'll forward them - I'll also summarize if there's enough
  20. interest...Here's the problem:

  23. I recently bought a ViVa 14.4i/FAX and am having some trouble with
  24. connections to USR Dual Standards (DS).  The actual connection and
  25. negotiation process occurs without problem, but when I attempt to
  26. download a file (using any protocol, but I mainly use Zmodem), I get
  27. a consistent 3-5 CRC errors every 100k or so.  Obviously, this slows
  28. the throughput down considerably, and I'd like to fix it.

  30. I'm using Qmodem configured for port 4 at 57600, and this problem
  31. occurs with every number in my dialer (of course, they're all DSs!).
  32. Any suggestions on init string changes or the like would be greatly
  33. appreciated!  Thanks!
