  21. configure it to answer the phone, right?  as in, ATS0=1 ?

  23. I don't have a Sportster, but I can tell you now that my USR DS (large
  24. footprint V.32bis w/ square LEDs) answers the modem just fine if I
  25. configure it to do so (as I have done in the past).  I can also tell you
  26. that I wouldn't trade this modem for anything (except, perhaps, once
  27. ``V.fast'' is finalized, the new version of the USR DS which will
  28. include whatever V.fast turns out to be called).
