  12. I have two dbase applications.  With the DOS 5.0 shell, I could start
  13. two instances of dbase and task swap between my two applications.  This
  14. was fine.  Now I am running windows.  I can't start two instances of
  15. dbase anymore.  I get a resource error when I try to start the second one.
  16. (This may be a result of have DOS share.exe running, but I don't want to
  17. turn that off).

  19. As a work around,
  20. I was thinking about starting my first application up, and when I need
  21. to use the second, I could: close all, switch directories, and start the
  22. second application (and vice versa).  The problem is, I don't see any
  23. way to switch directories once I am in dbase.  The PATH command doesn't
  24. do me much good, since a number of my file names are common to both
  25. applications (although they provide different functionality), so the
  26. files in my current directory would be used, rather than the ones from
  27. the alternate directory.  Opening and closing dbase each time would be
  28. rather time consuming, since I do task swap between these two applications
  29. often.

  31. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to:
  32. - get two version of dbase running in a windows environment with share.exe
  33.   running? or,
  34. - change directories once I am in a dbase session?, or
  35. - something else that will get me out of this pickle?

  37. The only other alternative that I see, is to rewrite parts of one of the
  38. applications to give unique file names and resolve any conflicts between
  39. the two applications, so that they can run together from the same directory.
  40. This would involve a fair bit of work, so I'm looking for something quicker
  41. and dirtier.
