  15. I have recently acquired volume 1 and 2 of "Understanding Neural Networks" by
  16. Maureen Caudill and Charles Butler.  They are a good exploration
  17. of NN basics using the computer.  I would recommend them for anyone learning
  18. about NNs for the first time or as a quick review of unfamiliar architectures.
  19. The books are practical rather than theoretical and need a companion volume
  20. to explain the theory behind the various networks.  They are quite enough for
  21. anyone wanting a working knowledge of NNs without first taking courses in
  22. probability and signal processing.

  24. I want to get hold of the author(s).  I have found a few typos and problems 
  25. with the computer files supplied.  Anyone who has email addresses for either
  26. or both authors, could you please send them to me.  Ordinary US mail address
  27. would also help.  I believe Mareen Caudill is at UCSD.
