- I don't suppose you can account for the $40 billion or so the
- government currently takes in from the gas tax? If we are being
- subsidised, then clearly they must be spending this money on roads
- and gasoline-related pollution measures. I wasn't aware the
- EPA and highway programs spent that much... I also seem to recall
- paying taxes to the government, in greater proportion (judging
- from average driving habits) that I benefit from these
- "subsidies" (hint: If I'm paying my share of it in taxes, it isn't
- a subsidy.)
