- I've run into this also. It's not just Canadian citizens, either; Any
- resident of Canada. My parents live in the States, and a few years ago, they
- offered to loan me their pickup truck for a few weeks. I only got it as far
- as the border crossing.

- The rationale wasn't explained to me, but I suspect it has to do with law
- enforcement, liability insurance, or both. If this vehicle were stolen after
- you brought it in, the RCMP has better things to do with their resources than
- track this stolen car down. (Remember, no Canadian taxes were paid on this
- vehicle.)
