- 1. First part to the Canadian people out there on the list. We're about to bit
- e the bullet on buying one of these Pioneer cartridge players bec ause of the m
- ess with Biological Abstracts and its umpteen discs. Has anyone in Canada bough
- t one of these recently ? If so, what was the cost, and can you recommend a rel
- iable Canadian supplier [ s ] for the product ?
-
- 2. For everybody, have you had any problems with using one of these on a stand-
- alone workstation ? We're not networking this one. If you did, especially with
- the Silver Platter version of Biological Abstracts [ BIOSIS ], what was the
- nature of the problem [s].
-
- For anyone who caught my comment about the " 400 mile long blizzard " hittin
- g Regina on Christmas Eve, no, I DIDN'T make it home across the 23 miles of
- bald prairie. The Royal Canadian Mounties closed all the highways at 1 PM
- and I ended stuck in the Relax Inn. We did set a new record for number of ca
- rs involved in a single accident though, just East of Regina - 16 cars, count
- 'em folks. In a province the size of Texas, with a total population of 900,000
- people, its not that easy to find another car to whack, let alone 15 of them
- all trying to occupy the same patch of territory you are! Thanks in advance f
- or the comments on the Pioneer player. Please send answers direct to me, not to
- the list.
