- Presented by The UBC Students for Forestry Awareness

- Saturday, Jan. 23
-
- Scarfe Auditorium, University of BC

-
- Many communities across BC face the challenge of maintaining community
- stability amidst rapidly changing perspectives on how forest land should
- be managed for timber production, the traditional economic force in many
- BC communities. These communities want to be resilient and flexible to
- florish during changing times. There are concerns about potential for
- maintaining the biological, economic and social stability of these
- communities through current forest practices. The objective of this
- symposium is to create a forum for learning and discussion about how
- BC's forests could be managed to promote community stability.
-
-
- This symposium will be of interest to all British Columbians who have a
- stake in the forests and communities of this province. Community leaders
