- It may stop it from getting worse. It will not reverse it.

-
- A small horizontal slit is made on your throat (1 inch). The surgeion
- literally scrapes the offending tissue away. Then you get sewed
- back up. This can be a tricky operation but it is becoming
- commonplace for some surgeons and TS surgeons are masters. The
- scar is just like any scar. If you scar easily, you will carry it
- for life.

-
- Many report physical affects almost immediately. From my experience,
- I not experienced them personally or seen them make that much difference
- on anyone else. This is initially. Over time, features soften,
- body hair reduces, and some breast tissue grows. These thinks
- happen best when the testocerone producers are removed <wink>.
-
- On the psychological side... I felt much better after I started taking
- them. I felt like I was finally doing something positive.
-
- Emotionally, it was a roller coaster. I was working with a physician
- who experimented with several types to help me find the correct one
- prior to surgery. I finally settled on DES (Diethyl Stilbestorol)
- which did the best job on controlling male urges in the night.
- During the first 6 weeks of taking this, I became very depressed
- and despondant. Surely, I had family problems that helped compound
- it. I remained on DES for 10 months or so until I had the surgery.
- In addition, I took spironalactone (a blood pressure medication)
- to reduce the after growth of hair from Electrolosys.
-
- Prior to surgery, my areolas had developed significantly, and the
- skin on my male member had started to change color and texture. The
- penus skin does have receptors that recieve hormones. In time
- the vaginal cavity will take on these and respond.
-
- After surgery, the body hair has diminished significantly. I still
- have to shave my legs but arm hair and chest hair have gone. I
- have enough of my own breast tissue to fill a B cup (with implants,
- I wear a C cup).
-
- I hope that this answers some questions. Maybe it will raise more!
