  30.    Recent tests show that when the average Japanese person hears a 
  31. bird singing, the portion of his brain becomes active which most
  32. scientist feel is associated with music. In Americans, the same song
  33. illicits activity in the part of the brain associated with noise. 
  34. Tests indicate that this brain wiring is learned, not genetic. In
  35. other words, learning change brain physiology, the two are inseper-
  36. able.

  38.    Equally valid research shows that identical twins lead amazingly
  39. similar lives. Even twins separated at birth. This suggests a very
  40. powerful underlying genetic predisposition towards becoming the  
  41. people we are. I'm sure we've all read studies about prenatal effects
  42. on developing human beings.

  44.    I totally agee with Wendy, our conscious expression is the sum of 
  45. our experiences, but our ground of being shapes those experiences from
  46. the day of birth. Under it all there is proclivity, the tendency for
  47. us to become what we will. As the experiences of our lives rain down
  48. upon us, the moments of our lives erode our tendencies into solid 
  49. nature, we become who we are from the living process.

  51.   Sometimes it is pointless to theorize whether it was the small 
  52. fissure that originally drew the water, or the water itself, that made
  53. the canyon. In the end we are left with what IS, and we must simply
  54. appreciate it that and nothing more.
