  23. I've been addicted to 3 compounds in my life (Librium, amphetamines
  24. and nicotine), and I dropped each one for different reasons when it
  25. became necessary (money was only one reason).  If you don't have
  26. money, don't take up expensive hobbies.

  31. Peeve: "victimology"  Everybody's a victim, and it's not their fault.

  33. fuck that.  A lot of us came from dysfunctional families (I could tell
  34. stories about leaving home when I was 13, but I digress) but the rest
  35. of us don't blame our past for what we choose to do now.

  37. I read an op-ed piece that totaled up the officially protected types
  38. under the ADA and various other civil rights acts, and came up with a
  39. number on the order of 300%.  I think that from now on we should just
  40. have a list of those that aren't protected and leave it at that. 
  41. Maybe when our govenment grows up we can stop keeping lists of
  42. protected and unprotected types of people and uniformly protect all
  43. types.
