- Well, as you all too frequently hear...I have too many cats.
-
- I have four. They hang out with me in a teeny apartment, sleep on
- my furniture, sleep on my freshly laundered clothing and lie on
- my pillows when I am trying to sleep.
-
- Every night - well, almost every night - I wake up coughing, have
- to get some water, down a half glass for the irritation to go away
- and conk out again.
-
- I did not cough last night. I got up feeling rather refreshed and got
- harrassed and badgered by Fred(a cat). He was asleep in the living room
- and woke me at my usual hour and sang for his breakfast. I did not feel
- like feeding him because he should not learn to wake me up for food. I
- know that trick. I took him to work, where I have lots of food so he
- can spend the day stuffing his face.
-
- I put him in the car and he sat in my lap, rubbing his little snotty
- nose on my wrists and making muffins. As I got to the Richmond
- Bridge, I started coughing and big welts rose up on my wrists.
-
- Ducky. I am allergic to one of four cats. I did not cough last night
- because he was sleeping in another room.
-
- So, poor Fred is going to have to face an unspeakable fate - the one
- that cats fear mightily.
-
- That's right, campers.
-
-
-
- Fred is going to get a bath tonight.
