  35. Is this a VMS client you are using?  If so, you might have to query
  36. the channel that you want to be on.  Join the channel first, like you
  37. have been doing, then type /query #channel.  In your example, it would
  38. be:
  39.   /join #UK
  40.   *** dbrillha!dbrillha@dave.mis.semi.harris.com has joined channel #UK
  41.   *** = #UK : dbrillha cyberwulf varg 
  42.   *** You have not joined a channel!
  43.   /query #UK
