  25. Well a 383 is a long stroked (high torque) engine.  Depending on what cam
  26. is in it (as a crane 290H CRN 114802 with an RPM range of 2,000 to 4,500
  27. and a cruising range of 2,600 to 3,200) you could be getting proper torque
  28. off the line with with the 3.08's to get it moving.  What's your top speed
  29. if ideal it should be around 93 miles per hour?

  36. I think youll see a great improvemont here.  Probably nock almost a second 
  37. off your times.  But don't be surprised if the top speed dropps, if it doesn't
  38. operhaps an even greater ratio change is in order.  Actually it sounds like
  39. your hiotting the traps in second which is about a 1.60 to 1.9 ratio from
  40. added to the 3.08's means equivalent to a 4.93 or 5.86 final ratio.  I`d
  41. start with about a 4.56 ratio in your case, but if your looking at street
  42. ability the 4.11 may be a nice compromise for you.
