- That is the correct place to start, but.....

-
- That's correct. Good thing you read the fine print before wasting your
- money.
-

-
- There will be soon...In my garage :-). I am collecting the parts now.
- Keep your eye on that new hot rod F-150 pickup. It uses the 351 and the
- E4OD. I don't know enough of the details yet, but given the performance
- it is likely to use a Mass Air processor. Ford may make a kit available
- through SVO. I have not seen it in the '93 catalog. Other than this
- pickup possibly, nothing has SEFI/Mass Air and E4OD.
-

-
- My current understanding is that the E4OD has a separate controller, but
- it does connect to the EEC-IV engine controller for information. There are
- some sources for "performance" shifting upgrades, which replace the E4OD
- module. Using the incorrect EEC-IV would cause endless headaches. I am still
- waiting for new service manuals (that should arrive "any day" now), which
- will confirm this information.
-
- >Are there good sources of tech info for a novice (like me) on the above

-
- I wish you lived closer! I would provide a personal tutorial, along with
- all of the parts you need. I would not recommend this project for a novice,
- unless you have alternative transportation and deep pockets to purchase
- "experimental" electronics. You could start out by purchasing a few hundred
- dollars worth of service manuals for your truck. These would be the
- standard service manual and the Powertrain Control and Diagnostic manual.
- I have not yet seen a very good publication that describes these electronic
- components and their use. Most just regurgitate what is found in the
- service manual. The best way to learn is by doing...small projects with
- help from Performance Engineering (tm) magazine.
-

- I will keep your name on file and send any information that I collect.
