- Karl, you should devide the stroke by two. Then it will be
- 350 cid: 3.484/2=1.742 + 5.7 + 1.56 = 9.002 which is actually 9"
- 400 cid: 3.750/2=1.875 + 5.565 + 1.56 = 9.000
-
- (I mean DIVIDE.)

- Yesterday, I was kind of day-dreaming about a SB 406, which is a 4.150 bore
- Bowtie block, 3.75 forged crank with 6.00 stroker rods, customs piston with
- 1.00 pin location, roller cam and roller 1.6 rockers, with 240/250 duration
- @ .050 lift, .55/.57 max lift, Brondix racing aluminum heads with TPIS mini
- ram fuel injection, and 10.5:1 compression ratio. Result? 500 ft.lbs @ 4500
- 550 hp @ 6000. And drop it in 64-67 Chevelle. After the dream, I went back
- and went through some of my parts catalogs and found out that just the motor
- alone would need 10000 US $. Pretty expensive(or cheap) dream. Any one has a similar dream?
-
- By the way, Karl, thanks for mentioning of my name in your post. The way I am
- thinking of my original question would be that it might be a well done way to
- do a 383 instead of a 400, as far as tech experience, reliability and cost are
- concerned, like what you have mentioned. Well, any more deeper thoughts there?
