- San Francisco (AP)

- The city's annual Gay Pride day parade started off without a hitch
- this morning on Castro Street and weaved its way through the crowd
- to end at Fisherman's warf. Joyous throngs threw confetti and
- danced to the music of the Village People who sang atop a colorfully
- designed float depicting men in the act of sodomizing young boys.
-
- The Master of Ceremony, Martin Hannigan, dressed in a black-leather
- biker's outfit with buns exposed, waved happily to the thousands of
- gay revelers, some whomed camped overnight for the best positions.
-
- Martin was quoted as saying "Thith ith justh like Hollywoood!"
- and merrilly twirled a pink-spangle encrusted baton in front of
- the marching bands, some of which came from as many as 13 states
- to join in the festivities.
-
- Among others, were the Gay Bikers on Acid marching band, the
- Dikes on Bikes precision motorcycle stunt show, and of course,
- the Man-Boy-Love-Association marching band.
-
- The crowd however, was dissapointed upon learning that the
- Norwegian contingent of The International Gay Communists had
- not been able to attend due to a bomb threat at Olso International
- Airport. J o r n Halonen, who heads this group, was not available
- for comment.
