- I don't think this has much relevance. The dwarfs have always been
- extremely proud of all their creations which, in my opinion, is the
- reason the Arkenstone was so precious to them. And if you'll remember,
- prior to the incidents surrounding the theft of the Silmarils by
- Melkor, the Noldor were very generous with their creations. Besides,
- didn't Feanor swear an oath concerning the silmarils which bound his
- descendants to reclaim the gems at all costs? This is a bit different
- than 'jealous guarding'.
