  24. Last time I checked, it was not my obligation to spearhead the group-creation
  25. process of any news.answers-related newsgroup that someone else thinks is a
  26. good idea.  Furthermore, last time I checked, it was not my prerogative to stop
  27. someone else from using the group-creation process to have such a group
  28. created.

  30. If someone else wants news.answers.d, they can issue an RFD and CFV for it.  If
  31. that happens, I will probably participate in the discussion and perhaps become
  32. convinced that it would be a good idea.  If so, I will vote for it; if not, I
  33. will vote against it.

  35. That's all the say I have in whether news.answers.d gets created.  I do not
  36. have the ability to "shoot it down" if someone else wants it and enough people
  37. support it to get the votes needed.

  39. (Incidentally, the reasons why I do not think news.answers.d is a good idea
  40. have nothing to do with Jef personally.  The group was suggested by other
  41. people besides Jef; in fact, I do not think he was the first to suggest it.  I
  42. will be glad to discuss my reasons, in E-mail, with anyone who wants to know
  43. them.)
