- I have received many requests for the full 245,000 byte directory
- listing for the disc. Since this file is quite large to post and
- much of it is a file by file listing of .c & .h source files, I felt
- that a descriptive listing of the subdirectories would be more

- Disc-1 Graphics- is a collection of more than 426 MegaBytes of popular
- public domain, shareware, and freeware graphics programs and data files.
- The disc contains more than 1200 programs, 16,000 files.

- The following is a list of the various subdirectories on the disc and a
- description of the files contained.

- _ARCHIVE- The compressed archives of the various programs expanded
- on the disc in the other subdirectories.
- _UTILITI- A collection of various utility applications, such
- as archive programs, display applications,
- players, etc.
- 3DDRAWKT- 3-D OBJECT EDITOR/VIEWER for the Amiga
- ANIM - a collection of animation data files for display
- ANIMATE- Animation players for the Amiga ( 8 applications, 4 with source)
- and IBM PC( a windows player)
- BIT_BLT- a blitter laboratory with source for the Amiga
- CASE_TLS- Two applications for the Amiga computer which convert images

- CCS- Complex Conversion System (CCS- The CCS is a standard software

- CELLSIM- Cellsim v2.5, Unix source and executable for Sun Micro Computers.
- COMPOSIT- NCSA CompositeTool Version 1.1 source code and documentation.
- COMPRESN- JPEG ver 3 source, and 5 conversion programs for the IBM PC ( 2 with
- source).
- CONTOUR A contour plot program for X-windows.
- CONVRTRS- Graphic conversion progrms for the Amiga, IBMPC, and Apple Macintosh.
- Amiga- 21 applications (5 with source).
- IBMPC- 10 applications ( no source available)
- MAC - 4 applications ( no source available)
- DKB- DKBTrace 2.12- This ray tracer was written by David K. Buck.
- Source and executables for Unix, MAC, IBMPC, and Amiga included.
- DRAW- Two drawing programs for the Amiga, Contour 4D, and Vertex.
- FBM- Release 1.0 of the Fuzzy Pixmap Manipulation (FBM) library of programs.
- This collection (in combination with Jef Poskanzer's PBM collection)
- provides a complete package for manipulating and converting color
- and black and whites images, including 24bit RGB, 8bit mapped color,
- 8bit grayscale, and 1bit bitmapped images.
- FIGURES An Amiga application to generate Spheric Lissajous Curves.
- FITS- A program for the Macintosh to work with files in the FITS format.
- FORMATS- 37 sub directories containing documentation describing various graphic
- image and animation formats. Among those covered are GIF, TIF, ANIM, CGM,
- FITS, FLI, IFF, JPEG, KODAK CC, LZW, NFF, OFF, TARGA.
- FRACTAL- 7 Fractal generating Applications for the Amiga( 3 with source) and 4 for the
- IBM PC ( 2 with source)
- FRACTINT- A Fractal generating program for the IBM PC with source.
- GEMS- The source for the graphic functions in the described in the books
- Graphics Gems, Graphics Gems II and Graphics Gems III published
- by Academic Press.
- GEOMUTIL- The INTR_LIB tool - an interaction
- graphics library for MSDOS environment. This library provide basic windowing
- facilities, pop up and pull down menus, and support keyboard, mouse and
- joystick devices.
- This library can currently be compiled for MSDOS using Borland's BC++
- compiler or DJGPP - the gcc port for 386 machines.
- GEOMVIEW- 9 Geometric manipulation applications for UNIX with source.
- 4dview, animate, corners, geomutil, ginsu, mathoogl, sweep, transform.
- GLE- GLE is a hi quality graphics package for scientists. GLE combines a user friendly
- interface with a full range of facilities for producing publication quality
- graphs, diagrams, posters and slides. GLE runs on PC's, VAXes and Unix. Source
- is included for adaptation to new systems.
- GRAPHTAL- GRAPHTAL 1 "October 27, 1992 - A L-system generation program. Graphtal is a tool
- for manipulating L-systems (context free, table oriented L-systems with stochastic
- productions). Graphtal reads a file containing an L-system description and starts
- the interpretation. In addition, graphtal is able to interpret the result
- graphically, producing different kinds of output. The main reference for the
- program is the book The Virtual Laboratory: The Algorithmic Beauty of Plants.
- HDF- NCSA HDF Vset Version 2.0 source code and documentation. The HDF Vset is a new storage
- scheme that allows more than raster images, palettes, scientific datasets and
- annotations to be stored in the HDF file.
- ICOONS- ICoons v. 1.0- ICoons is a spline based object modeller which can be used to generate
- objects in TTDDD format.
- IMAGE311- NCSA Audible Image for Microsoft Windows is a visualization tool for use in the
- Microsoft Windows 3.0 environment. Image can load and display Windows BMP and HDF
- raster images in a MDI display window. Mac executables are also provides.
- IMAGES- BLM (4), GIF (2), JPG (20), LANDSAT (1), AND NASA (14) image data for use with the various
- applications provided on this disc.
- IMAGETOO- NCSA ImageTool- NCSA ImageTool is a utility that provides a variety of methods for
- visualizing a set of data points. Color images, contour plots, 3D plots, and XY graphs
- are mechanisms that you employ to "see" the data. Contour plots, 3D plots, and XY
- graphs can be printed. Color images can be magnified, composited, and, to some degree,
- edited.
- IMG_PRCS- 4 Applications for the IBM PC to process images.
- IMG_PROC- 4 Image processing pplications for the Amiga, 1 for IBM PC ( Windows), and 1 UNIX.
- INETRAY- Inetray is an application allowing you to raytrace an image using a lot of machines.
- The task is dynamically distributed to all machines offering this service.
- IRIT- IRIT solid modeler for the IBM PC. Executables and source are included.
- ITTICOLO- ISC ITTI Computer Graphics and Visualization project.
- KALEIDO- Kaleido(1) source for "Uniform Solution for Uniform Polyhedra". Author: Dr. Zvi Har'El.
- KALI- Kali: an interactive 2-D Euclidean symmetric pattern editor.
- KAOS- A UNIX chaos program.
- LINK_EDI- A program for interactively editing link projections. Conceptually, a link
- (in 3 dimensions) is a collection of non-intersecting closed curves. A link projection
- is an orthographic projection of such a link onto a plane, with over/under crossings
- appropriately marked.
- MAPPING- 2 Amiga and 1 IBM PC global mapping application with data.
- MATH_FIG- An Amiga Lissajou drawing program.
- MICRORAY- A ray tracing program with source.
- MODELING- A chemical molecular modeling program for the Amiga.
- MOVIES- A movie data file for the Amiga and a mpeg data file for the IBM PC.
- MTV- MTV RAYTRACER - The input format to this ray tracer is called "NFF" or Neutral File Format,
- which was invented by Eric Haines' for his Standard Procedural Database.
- NAKEDEYE- NakedEye A SuperVga GIF viewer.
- NFF- File description and filter source for Eric Haine's NFF.
- OBJECTS- 138 OFF objects and 8 NFF objects for use with raytracing applications on this disc.
- OFF- This directory contains the source code for off.a, a library that contains
- utilities for reading and writing Object File Format (OFF) files.
- OHTA- This is a public domain ray tracing program with the following features:
- * shadows
- * specular reflection
- * transparency with refraction
- * antialiasing
- * high speed
- It computes ray-object intersections very fast by exploiting ray coherence.
- For many scenes, the program can compute ray-object intersections in constant time,
- regardless of the number of objects.
- PAINT- 2- Paint programs for the Amiga, 2 programs for IBM PC Windows environment,
- and 3 for the MAC.
- PARI- The PARI system is a package, available for the MAC, OS/2, NEXT, UNIX, and MS-DOS,
- which is capable of doing formal computations
- on recursive types at high speed; it is primarily aimed at number
- theorists, but can be used by people whose primary need is speed.
- Although quite an amount of symbolic manipulation is possible in PARI, this
- system does very badly compared to much more sophisticated systems like
- Reduce, Macsyma, Maple, Mathematica or Scratchpad (now Axiom) on such
- manipulations (e.g. multivariate polynomials, formal integration, etc\dots).
- On the other hand, the two main advantages of the system is its speed (which
- can be between 5 and 100 times better on many computations than the above
- mentioned systems), and the possibility of using directly data types which
- are familiar to mathematicians.
- PBM- Extended Portable Bitmap Toolkit for Amiga, IBM PC, and UNIX with source.
- PCSHOW- This is version 1.11 of NCSA PCShow. PC Show is a public domain program designed
- for displaying raster 8 binary images and images contained in HDF files.
- PHIGS- Library with source of a PHIGS Toolkit.
- PLOT- Plotter programs - A surface plotter for the Amiga, and PCGPLOT for the IBM PC.
- POPI- Popi v3.2.1- This version is based on the code in the Prentice Hall book,
- * "Beyond Photography - the digital darkroom," ISBN 0-13-074410-7.
- POV- Persistence of Vision Raytracer - The Persistence of Vision Raytracer creates
- three-dimensional, photo-realistic images using a rendering technique called
- ray tracing. It reads in a text file containing information describing the
- objects and lighting in a scene and generates an image of that scene from the
- view point of a camera also described in the text file. Source for Amiga, MAC,
- UNIX, and IBM PC provided as well as extensive library of image and data tables.
- PRT- Prt is a parallel raytracer which will run across machines that are networked
- together via TCP/IP. Prt consists of two programs:
- - prt: the front end system
- - rt: the raytracing engine.
- PXM_RAY- A simple ray tracing program developed at RPI. It incorporates shadows, reflections
- and refraction together with one non-directional light source. The light source
- can diffuse on the surfaces and can also give specular reflections. The
- illumination model used is by Phong.
- QRT- Quick Ray Trae- This is source and executable for various qrt versions for the Amiga.
- RADIANCE- Greg Ward's Radiance 2.0 for the Amiga and IBM PC with source.
- RAY_20- This is the second version of a simple ray tracer written at RPI.
- The second version expanded its capabilities with the inclusion of
- distributed ray tracing.
- RAY_SLID- Rayshade and Utah Raster Toolkit slides- a collection of 33+ slides to introduce
- Rayshade (and the Utah Raster Toolkit).
- RAYSHADE- This is version 4.0 of rayshade, a ray tracing program. Rayshade reads a multi-line
- ASCII file describing a scene to be rendered and produces a Utah Raster Toolkit
- "RLE" format file containing the ray traced image. Systems supported include UNIX,
- MAC, Amiga, and IBM PC. Source is included.

- REND386- A collection of rendering programs.
- SCRNGRAB- 2 Screen capture probrams for the Amiga, 3 for MS-DOS and 7 for use in Windows 3.x.
- SIPP_3_0- SIPP -- 3d rendering package- This is SIPP, the SImple Polygon Processor, version 3.0.
- SIPP is a library for creating 3-dimensional scenes and rendering them using a
- scan-line z-buffer algorithm.
- TARGS- Targs serves as a foundation for building interactive programs. It interprets the user's
- input, evaluates expressions, and executes the desired subroutines.
- TIFF30- TIFF Software "Release" 3.00 --This is Version 3.00 TIFF support software. Included is
- a library, libtiff, for reading and writing TIFF files.
- The library, along with associated tool programs, should handle most of needs for
- reading and writing files that follow the 5.0 TIFF spec for Classes B, G, P, and R.
- There is also considerable support for proposed additions that are to appear in the
- 6.0 TIFF specifiations.
- SIPP30A- Tcl-SIPP 3.0a--This package provides a Tcl command interface to the SIPP rendering program.
- TTDDD- Textual TDDD - for TurboSilver file manipulation on the Amiga. With an extensive
- 55-subdirectories, collection of object data files, binaries, and source.
- URT- THE UTAH RASTER TOOLKIT-The Utah Raster Toolkit is a set of programs for manipulating and
- composing raster images.
- VIEWERS- Image viewing programs for the Amiga( 28 applications), Atari(9),IBM PC (26), Mac (12) and
- Unix(15) systems. Some of the formats represented include GIF(40 files) and JPEG( 26 files).
- VOGLE- VOGLE is a device portable graphics library that is loosely based on the Silicon Graphics Iris GL.
- VOPL- VOPL is a library of routines for doing fits and graph plots written using the VOGLE graphics library.
- VORT- VORT - a very ordinary rendering tool-kit. Version 2.1.2
- VORT is a collection of tools and a library for the generation and manipulation of images.
- It includes a ray tracer, pixel library, and utilities for doing gamma correction, median cuts, etc...
