  36. I have deleted a long rebuttal by Rick Horwitz to some statements
  37. made by Bill Williams, some of which I consdered valid and some
  38. which were just plain obfuscatory.

  40. My bottom line is here's two good reasons NOT to buy Texel:

  42.     1. Their "long awaited" multisession upgrade is STILL just
  43.     vaporware and we all know what 'real soon now' means. And
  44.     how often does the first version work? And why the hell
  45.     are they charging for it?
  46.  
  47.     2. And I quote from the installation instructions for the
  48.     latest OS/2 2.1b release under the section 'CD rom drives and
  49.     SCSI adapters with special requirements':
  50.  
  51.     -Texel DM-3021, DM-5021
  52.       IBM SCSI adapter: not supported
  53.       IBM SCSI adapter w/ cache: not supported
  54.       Future Domain TMC-700EX: not supported
  55.  
  56.     -Texel DM-3024, DM-5024
  57.       IBM SCSI adapter: not supported
  58.       IBM SCSI adapter w/ cache: not supported
  59.       Future Domain TMC-1650, TMC-1660, TMC-1670,
  60.             TMC-1680: not supported
