- I just installed a Toshiba 3301 (external,scsi) drive in an EISA
- machine using the bundled Future Domain controller. I didn't
- have any problems with that configuration other than the fact I
- already had an Adaptec SCSI host adapter in my machine for my
- hard disk. I ordered the drivers from Toshiba (CDDRV-04 v2.2.1)
- and installed them, but haven't had any luck with them.
-
- The driver reports "DRIVER NOT NEEDED, NO DRIVES NEEDING SUPPORT"
- at boot time. But, when I boot the Windows NT Install disk, it
- sees the controller and the CD-ROM drive, and it doesn't seem to have
- any problems accessing the drive.
-
- Now, I called Toshiba tech support to verify that I had everything
- terminated okay. After a few more suggestions (SCSI address, config
- order, etc), they were stumped.
-
- So, is there anyone out there that can offer any advice. I'm running
- an Intel 50Mhz 486/EISA box with an Adaptec EISA SCSI Host Adapter,
- Fahrenheit 1024, and an Intel EtherExpress 16 network card. I'm
- loading the ASPI4DOS.SYS driver BEFORE the MDSCD_AS.SYS. _Halp!_
