  12. I just installed a Toshiba 3301 (external,scsi) drive in an EISA
  13. machine using the bundled Future Domain controller.  I didn't
  14. have any problems with that configuration other than the fact I
  15. already had an Adaptec SCSI host adapter in my machine for my
  16. hard disk.  I ordered the drivers from Toshiba (CDDRV-04 v2.2.1)
  17. and installed them, but haven't had any luck with them.

  19. The driver reports "DRIVER NOT NEEDED, NO DRIVES NEEDING SUPPORT"
  20. at boot time.  But, when I boot the Windows NT Install disk, it
  21. sees the controller and the CD-ROM drive, and it doesn't seem to have
  22. any problems accessing the drive.

  24. Now, I called Toshiba tech support to verify that I had everything
  25. terminated okay.  After a few more suggestions (SCSI address, config
  26. order, etc), they were stumped.

  28. So, is there anyone out there that can offer any advice.  I'm running
  29. an Intel 50Mhz 486/EISA box with an Adaptec EISA SCSI Host Adapter,
  30. Fahrenheit 1024, and an Intel EtherExpress 16 network card.  I'm
  31. loading the ASPI4DOS.SYS driver BEFORE the MDSCD_AS.SYS.  _Halp!_
