-
- "But I -want- to pay attention to you." Jason smiles again.
-
- "As to your pleasure, I was asking what you would like to drink. This -is-
- a virtual bar, after all. And I'm celebrating a bit and bought a drink for
- each person reading that particular thread. It doesn't have to be
- alcoholic, but it can be. Mike, he's the big Irish bartender over there, he
- can get you just about any drink you can imagine, and a few you probably
- can't imagine, for that matter."
-
- He pauses a moment to scratch behind the ears of the feline woman next to
- him in the hot tub. He's in his early 30's or so, with shoulder length
- brown hair tied back in a short pony-tail, and a close cropped, dark brown
- beard. His eyes are blue. In general, he seems to be a rather normal
- caucasian human, from what you can see of him. Which isn't much, since he's
- up to his armpits in bubbling hot water.
-
- The woman next to him is only part human, seems mostly asleep, and is
- -purring- like a housecat. Which is probably appropriate, since she has
- short, downy, golden brown fur covering her skin, and the ears and whiskers
- one would expect of a housecat. The hair on her head is shoulder length,
- and a rather unusual shade of cyan blue, with white highlights. Her eyes
- are blissfully closed.
-
- On the other side of her is a caucasian human woman, with a mass of dark
- hair tied up in a bun on top of her head. She has brown eyes, and is
- wearing a silver necklace with a charm in the shape of a Pegasus on it.
-
- The man speaks again. "Alow me to introduce ourselves. The woman next to me
- with the furr is Thyra, a friend of mine. The woman on the other side of
- her is my wife, Pegasus. I'm Jason. We've been regulars here since last
- August or so."
-
- "As to how strings of posts work, think of each string (or thread) as a
- conversation going on in the room. So long as the topic remains generally
- the same, keep the same title. It helps in keeping track of who's talking
- to whom. If the topic gets changed, for example if we got off introductions
- and started discussing woodworking, or some other topic, one of us should
- change the title of the new posts appropriately."
-
- He moves over and places his head on his arms, on the rim of the tub
- closest to Delilah.
-
- "You generally only want to quote as much of the previous post as is
- necessary to retain continuity. Some folks have to read this stuff by
- rather slow modems, and don't appreciate re-reading stuff they've read
- before, to get just a few lined of new conversation."
-
- "Oh, and on this newsgroup, adding narrative material like I've done, to
- flesh out the actions and appearances of the participants, is part of the
- fun. It's not required, but it makes things more interesting."
-
- "Does that help? And what would you like for that drink?"
