- Well, I just got out and did some throwing with my new 'rang. Aside from the fact
- that we had some heavy wind at the time (30-35 mph) I had fun. I just could not wait
- for a calmer day, I'd been waiting too long for the 'rang to get here!!! And yeah, I
- did have to chase it back behind me most of the time.
-
- Now that I have the initial urge out of my system, I want to work on tuning my throw
- so that it will come back to me, or at least closer than 20 yards for starters! ;^)
-
- I would appreciate tips on how to control the various variables so that I can really
- learn by seeing and doing just what each does. For example, I observed that for me
- on that day, the more out of vertical my throw was, the higher the 'rang climbed.
- Yet, it also appeared to do that if I threw to a higher altitude referenced against
- my horizon. So, what would be the best way to control all these variables so to
- work on just one at a time? There is force of throw, spin imparted to the 'rang,
- angle of throw above the horizon, angle of throw from vertical, angle to the wind.
- None of these can be pinned down rigidly, obviously. Is there any one of these that
- is more difficult to control that I should perhaps start with? Anything I have left
- out of this list? I have the instructions that came with the 'rang and am still
- waiting for my _Boomerang_ book to get here, but that is about it.
-
- Ye gads! Just thinking about it makes me long to get up and go out to the park and
- throw for an hour or so!
