  22. From my own experience, UCX 2 is positively dangerous as shipped. I checked
  23. DSN before installing and found nothing critical. Installed it and came
  24. in the following day to find 500,000 blocks eaten up on the system
  25. disk and the SMTP symbiont with 18 hours of cpu time. The patch already existed
  26. to fix this but nowhere was it officially documented.

  28. As for the lpr/lpd stuff. Well I find 60 odd lines of output on a hard copy
  29. console a bit much every time someone prints a file and short of turning
  30. off OPCOM logging of printer class you can't stop it. DEC's response is that
  31. this will be fixed in a future release.

  33. Another gotcha happens if you start the UCX stuff up from an account other
  34. than SYSTEM. It appears to work but incoming ftp tend to fall over
  35. with some obscure (and incorrectly spelled) OPCOM message regarding
  36. protection violation; of what it doesn't say.

  38. BTW, what's the command that turns on translation of Internet number
  39. to Internet name in commands such as show users? I'm sure I saw it
  40. but have forgotten now.

  42. Did this product undergo *any* field testing I wonder? I find it impossible
  43. to believe it did (at least in shipped form).
