- country, and (2) I haven't got a shred of evidence to support
- the hypothesis that John McCarthy beats women.

- past, but the practice of beating women is so overwhelmingly
- common that -- using John McCarthy's own "logic" -- it would
- be more reasonable to demand evidence that John McCarthy is
- not doing so.
